Climate Change - Gearing up for Earth Hour
Sydney Gears Up For Earth Hour
On March 31st at 7:30pm, individuals and businesses in Sydney are preparing to turn off their lights for 1 hour as a sign of their commitment to reduce Global Warming.
Arranged by the WWF (World Wildlife Fund), and backed by The Sydney Morning Herald, Earth Hour is just the start of a campaign to reduce Sydney's greenhouse gas emissions by 5% in 2007. Although the event happens in Sydney, there is no reason why anyone from around the world can't join in and do their bit to help - in fact the organisers are hoping to make this a global event in future years.
How you can help
The easiest way that you can help is by joining in and switching off your lights at 7:30pm local time, also spread the word and get your friends and family involved too - the more participants, the better.
Send to a friend
Please email your friends, family and workmates and tell them that you have committed to Earth Hour and encourage them to join you.
MySpace
If you have a MySpace profile, add Earth Hour as your friend.
YouTube and Flickr
Post your Earth Hour photos or videos to YouTube and Flickr and tag them with "earthhour2007" so others can find them. If you are organising or participating in an event, be sure to post your photos and videos too!
