Dont run the tap while brushing your teeth
After wetting your toothbrush, turn off the tap, then after brushing, rinse with a glass of water.
Rinse your razor in a plugged sink
To rinse your razor, run a little water into a plugged sink. Rinsing your razor under a running tap wastes lots of water.
Keep cold water in the fridge
Keep a container of water in the fridge so that you won't need to run water down the sink until it's cool enough to drink.
Use eco friendly detergents
Try to use phosphate-free, eco-friendly detergents and cleaning products. There's a great range avaialable and they are much better for the environment.
Use the Dishwasher only when full
You can save water and reduce the amount of detergent entering the sewage system by only using your dishwasher when you have a full load.
Check for leaks
Fix all leaks in taps, pipes, dishwasher and washing machine hoses.
Just 1 leaking tap can waste over 2000 litres of water per month.
Use Public Transport or Car Share
Reduce your carbon output by using public transport, or sharing your drive to work.
Buy recycled products
When shopping, look for products that are made from recycled materials. Aluminium, Steel, Glass, Paper and even some plastics can be recycled.
Dont use throw away coffee cups
Buy yourself a reusable thermos coffee cup - your coffee stays hot longer and you are contributing less waste to the environment.
Reuse shopping bags
Don't just bin those shopping bags, take them with you next time you shop. Better still don't use plastic bags at all - take a cloth bag with you.
